Extract the "keep the most specific match status" comparison in
matchAndEmitInstruction into an atLeastAsSpecific() lambda ranking
Match_MnemonicFail < Match_InvalidOperand < Match_MissingFeature. No

[CodeGen] Avoid quadratic operand removal in MachineInstr::insert (#220165)
This optimizes MachineInstr::insert by copying trailing operands
first and then removing them from the end. This avoids repeatedly
shifting the remaining operands, reducing the operation from quadratic
to linear time without changing behavior.
[Github] Match backend:NVPTX files outside llvm/ (#221968)
The backend:NVPTX labeler rules are anchored to the llvm/ subtree (every
glob starts with llvm/**), so NVPTX/NVVM-related files elsewhere in the
tree never get the label. In particular, ClangIR's lowering under clang/
touches NVPTX code but the PR is not tagged backend:NVPTX.
This drops the llvm/ prefix so the patterns match anywhere in the tree.
[libc][unistd] Support _SC_GET(GR|PW)_R_SIZE_MAX in sysconf. (#222135)
* Add support for POSIX-specified `_SC_GETGR_R_SIZE_MAX` and
`_SC_GETPW_R_SIZE_MAX`
constants used as arguments to `sysconf` function;
* Return -1 for these values - they provide "initial size" for
user-supplied buffers passed to `getgr*` and `getpw*`
functions, but there's no real maximum limit imposed by the LLVM-libc
implementation, and user might provide a
size they can, and rely on `ERANGE` return values if the chosen size
ended up being too small for pwd/group entries.
* Add unit test coverage, and update the unit test to use proxy headers
instead of system-provided `<unistd.h>`.
Also, properly test errno values returned by `sysconf`.
This fixes one of the remaining blockers for building Clang against
LLVM-libc (https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/issues/97191)
[OpenMPOpt] Ask the runtime how many of a block's threads can be workers
The custom state machine gates a thread on InitCB < BlockHwSize - WarpSize,
reconstructing the number of worker threads from the block size on the
assumption that the main thread occupies a whole warp above them. The DeviceRTL
already computes that number, in mapping::getMaxTeamThreads(), and its own
generic state machine gates on it in shouldEnterStateMachine(). Export it as
__kmpc_get_max_team_threads(IsSPMD) and call that instead, so the compiler's
state machine and the runtime's agree by construction rather than by arithmetic
that has to be kept in step with the launch geometry.
The entry point is handed the mode rather than reading it back from
mapping::isSPMDMode(), for the same reason shouldEnterStateMachine() takes it as
a parameter: IsSPMDMode lives in shared memory and only the initial thread
writes it, and in generic mode __kmpc_target_init() returns to the workers
without a barrier in between, so that write is not yet theirs to read at this
point. The compiler passes a constant, a custom state machine being built only
for a generic-mode kernel.

[CIR][CMake] Configure MLIR as a dependency-only project
ClangIR requires MLIR, but enabling CIR currently requires users to list MLIR
explicitly in LLVM_ENABLE_PROJECTS. That also attaches all MLIR build, install,
unit-test, and lit targets to the corresponding LLVM aggregates.
When Clang is selected and CLANG_ENABLE_CIR is enabled, append MLIR to the
effective LLVM_ENABLE_PROJECTS list. The common project setup compares that
list with the cached user selection, so an explicit MLIR selection retains its
normal behavior while an implicit selection is configured with EXCLUDE_FROM_ALL.
This makes MLIR targets available for CIR dependency resolution without adding
MLIR's aggregate targets. Keep the existing standalone ClangIR restriction and
do not configure MLIR when CIR is disabled.
Validation:
- Configured Clang with CIR and implicit MLIR test support.
- Configured Clang and MLIR explicitly with CIR and tests enabled.
- Configured Clang without CIR and verified that MLIR remains disabled.

[CMake] Infer dependency-only projects from the cache
LLVM_ENABLE_PROJECTS historically treats projects enabled to satisfy another
project's dependency the same as projects selected by the user. Consequently,
implicit projects attach their complete build, install, and test suites to
LLVM's aggregate targets.
Keep the cache entry as the user-requested project roots and use the normal
LLVM_ENABLE_PROJECTS variable as the effective dependency closure. Projects in
the effective list but not the cache entry are configured with EXCLUDE_FROM_ALL.
Normalize the special all value before comparing the two sets.
This makes Flang's MLIR and Clang dependencies dependency-only without a second
project collection. It also applies the same rule to Clang when it is added for
LLDB. Forward the cached roots to cross-compilation and bootstrap configurations
so implicit projects do not become explicit in nested builds.
Let MLIR own its dependency-only test policy: configure test support libraries
for downstream consumers without creating MLIR unit tests or registering its

[lldb] Fix -Wunused-template (#221815)
This warning was enabled by default in clang 23.1.0 (although reverted
for 23.1.1). These fixes still make sense to perform though. Template
definitions in headers should not use static, and others are completely
unused.
[AMDGPU] Refresh RegisterClassInfo after reserving WWM registers (#221849)
AMDGPUReserveWWMRegs reserves the VGPRs the WWM allocator picked for SGPR
spill lanes and clears the per-lane VGPR mask, but updates neither
MachineRegisterInfo nor the shared RegisterClassInfo. RegAllocBase
re-freezes the reserved set, but owns its RegisterClassInfo by value, so
only its private copy is refreshed, and a later user of the analysis is
offered an allocation order that still lists the reserved register.
AMDGPURewriteAGPRCopyMFMA became such a user in #216510: its spill slot
elimination assigned that register, which asserts in VirtRegMap and, in a
build without assertions, silently clobbers the spilled SGPRs. #216510 was
reverted in #221749; this is a prerequisite for relanding it.
Update MRI and the analysis at the end of the pass, as SIPreAllocateWWMRegs
already does, after clearPerLaneVGPRAllocMask() since the mask is itself an
input to getReservedRegs().

[clang][docs] Generate diagnostics reference as Markdown (#221361)
Generate Clang's diagnostics reference from MyST Markdown rather than
reStructuredText. Update diagnostic-group documentation to use native MyST
roles and references, and have the TableGen emitter produce MyST list tables
for diagnostic alternatives.
The new list-table emission code is more verbose, but it is conceptually
simpler, since it's just tracking nested indentation as it emits table cells.

[llc] add target-features optimization remark
In clang we have --print-enabled-extensions which will print the
AArch64 extensions enabled for a given TU. However, sometimes it is
useful to be able to print out the actual subtarget features for each
function, for debugging/testing purposes. Add an optimization remark
for that.
Fold object_ownership into the S3 service migration
The column is added where the table is created rather than altered
onto it a revision later: neither has shipped, so the pair of
migrations only asks a fresh install to make and then rewrite a
column it has no rows in.
